Participate in a Litter Clean Up!
The Provincial Day of Action on Litter is celebrated on the second Tuesday of May each year in Ontario to encourage people to reduce waste and take action to keep the environment clean. The Provincial Day of Action on Litter will be celebrated on May 13, 2025!
From May 13th to 17th, community groups and individuals are encouraged to participate in a Litter Clean Up to pick up litter from roadsides and public places in Selwyn Township.
How to Participate
The Township will provide clear bags for garbage and recycling and a landfill pass to dispose of the collected litter. Clear bags and landfill passes are available for pickup at the Township Office (1310 Centre Line).
Participants can bring garbage and recycling to the Smith Landfill (1480 County Road 18) for disposal from Tuesday, May 13, to Saturday, May 17. Garbage and recycling must be separated.
Visit the Township’s Waste Collection page to find out what can and cannot be recycled.
